Jack,Jill,John and Jane

This page may contain a conversation I had with you or a conversation I overheard or just something I told myself or made up. You will read it like it happened between my four characters Jack , Jill , John and Jane. Well these people do not have any fixed relationship or age. It will change from conversation to conversation. Well what they do have is ,fixed genders. Jack and John will always represent the male gender and Jill and Jane the female gender.

Reunion

Jill : (Jumping excitedly, waving vigourously, with a huge smile) Hi!!! ( Comes running from the opposite side of the corridor).
Jack : (Thinking this girl won't change, smiles and holds his hand out) Hi.
Jack and Jill : (observing each other, trying to see what 40 years had done to the other)
Jill : (Words failing her for the first time) So...............
Jack : (As usual) So?????
Jill : (Hoping Jack would do something to cover the awkward silence, smiles)
Jack : (Blushes, as he thinks I won't miss the opportunity this time) You look beautiful, like you always did.
Jill : (Smile disappearing , looks Jack in the eye , as tears fill her eyes) I wish you had said this back then.
Jack : (Wiping away a tear) I wish I had known your wish.
John : Hey Honey, (from across the corridor) the children are waiting shall we leave.
Jill : Coming John.(Jumping excitedly, waving vigourously, with a huge smile) Bye Jack.(Runs away)
Jack : (thinks and nods, If only I had known she would not mind then, smiles as he waves bye)

Friendship

Jack: Do you believe in the saying "tell me who your friends are I will tell you who you are"?
Jill: Well, I do believe it to a certain extent.
Jack: Ummm.........
Jill: Well don't friends over the long run tend to rub off on you?
Jack: You mean to say you start becoming like them. Imitating them????
Jill: No, not really. You only start believing that whatever they do is not wrong. You tend to
make excuses for them.
Jack: Ya, that does happen. But you won't change much as an individual. So I guess what you
said is right. They do tend to rub off on you to a certain extent.
Jill: Ya. But I totally agree with the saying "birds of the same feather flock together".......

Jack : Absolutely.
John : Then there is a condition!!
Jack : What! what do you mean?
Jane : We would like you to give my son a gold bracelet. We would like to see what jewellery you have made for your daughter.
Jill : (With a confused smile) What is all this? Just a week left to the wedding.

Cacophonous Silence

JANE : Aloud to herself
jane : Thinking unheard

JANE : Uff! these books, let me start with this one.
jane : Man, this is so much better than a computer anyday
JANE : No not this one maybe this one first.
jane : I hope I will finish all this in time.
JANE : Yes, I can.
jane : Else I will become the laughing stock of the nation.I have to finish do I have a choice.I have put my head to the mill, whats the use of counting the number of times I am churned now. (A literal translation of a hindi doha)
JANE : Now this is "the" book.

In total silence she sat on her bed with books all around. She lifted one to read and immediately put it away and took another book. Her silence and confusion was the outward expression of the inner cacophony and turmoil. So she sat in cacophonous silence.
